The VDNKh is one of the most popular parks in Moscow because it has both grand palace-like building, amazingly beautiful fountains and arches and long shady alleys. In winter, the VNKHs features fancy Christmas light installations and decorations, donut slides and a huge skating rink around the historical monuments - the golden statues around the Peoples Friendship Fountain.
The Russian acronym VDNKh stands for "The All-Soviet Exhibition of National Economy Achievements". These exhibition grounds were created in the 1930s as a fancy park with landscape design where pavilions showcasing achievements of the Soviet socialist society were built. The pavilions look more like palaces, and those dedicated to the Republic of the Soviet Union feature national styles.
The VDNKh features many attractions and museums, cafes and restaurants, and is a great place to spend at least half a day of your stay in Moscow taking back stunning photos and Soviet history facts.
